Podcast #15: Why you're not doing what you are suppose to Do - Learn to Manage Your Energy

Learn to Manage Your Energy

1. Physical Energy: Fuel Your Body

Your body is your powerhouse. How you treat it determines the energy it gives back to you.

  • Sleep: Are you sleeping 7–8 hours every night? Sleep isn’t a luxury; it’s a necessity. It’s when your body repairs and recharges.

  • Nutrition: Food is fuel. Eat clean, balanced meals that energize you rather than drain you. Avoid overloading on sugar or caffeine—they give you a quick spike but leave you crashing later.

  • Exercise: Move your body daily, even if it’s just for 15–30 minutes. Physical activity boosts oxygen flow, releases endorphins, and enhances your stamina.

2. Mental Energy: Focus Your Mind

Your mind can either be your greatest ally or your biggest obstacle. The key is to stay focused and avoid energy-draining distractions.

  • Prioritize: Start each day by identifying your top three tasks. This keeps you focused on what truly matters.

  • Avoid Multitasking: Doing many things at once splits your energy and reduces your effectiveness. Focus on one thing at a time.

  • Take Breaks: The Pomodoro technique—25 minutes of focused work followed by a 5-minute break—can help you maintain mental clarity throughout the day.

3. Emotional Energy: Guard Your Spirit

Your emotions are a major source of energy. Negative emotions—like stress, anger, and frustration—drain you, while positive emotions fuel you.

  • Surround Yourself with Positivity: Spend time with people who uplift you and limit interactions with those who drain you.

  • Practice Gratitude: Take a moment each day to reflect on what you’re grateful for. Gratitude shifts your focus from scarcity to abundance.

  • Let Go of What You Can’t Control: Worrying about uncontrollable factors only wastes your emotional energy. Instead, focus on what you can influence.
